Join our Global Operational Risk team based in Sydney. We play a key role in providing independent oversight and expert challenge of Macquarie Asset Management activities in the Asia-Pacific Region. Responsibilities or duties

As a Senior Manager, you will be the key point of contact on operational risk matters for Macquarie Asset Management in the Asia-Pacific region.You will provide independent challenge and oversight of the application of the operational risk management framework, leveraging strong knowledge of the asset management and principal investments industries, to present risk insights clearly to stakeholders.

You will review and challenge the scope and outcome of business risk assessments, risk reporting, significant incidents and remediation projects. In addition, you will review and evaluate new business initiatives and operational changes, with a focus on AI and Technology initiatives, ensuring key operational risks are identified and managed within appetite.

Qualifications or requirements

Experience needed

  • 8+ years’ experience in asset management, alternative assets and principal investing, through roles in business, non-financial risk or aligned support functions
  • Experience implementing and/or overseeing non-financial risk framework implementation within a large international financial institution or financial services firm
  • Experience in any of the following disciplines; AI risk, technology risk, cyber risk, data and information security risk
  • Working knowledge of the regulatory environment in which Macquarie operates with strong problem solving and consulting skills and the ability to grasp abstract concepts and complex situations
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to initiate and lead conversations with business leaders and risk management colleagues regarding anticipated and emerging issues

Education

  • Tertiary degree in Finance or a related area. Relevant postgraduate degrees or professional qualifications (CA, CFA, CPA, FRM) are valuable.
